Accepting Payments with Stripe Connect

Overview

FamousTitle uses Stripe Connect to enable you to accept payments directly from your customers. When you connect your Stripe account, payments from your storefront go directly to you - FamousTitle never holds your funds.

Stripe is a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide, including companies like Amazon, Google, and Shopify. Your customers' payment information is always secure.

How It Works

When a customer purchases from your storefront, the payment flows through Stripe to your connected account.

All transactions are processed in real-time. You can view payment details and manage refunds from your Stripe dashboard.

Getting Started

Connecting your Stripe account takes just a few minutes. Here's what you need to do:

Go to Settings → Payments
Navigate to your FamousTitle settings and click on the Payments section.
Click 'Connect with Stripe'
You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure onboarding flow.
Complete Stripe's verification
Stripe will ask for business information and bank details. This is required for payments to work.
Return to FamousTitle
Once verified, you'll be redirected back. Your connection status will show as 'Connected'.

Requirements for Stripe verification:

Valid email address
Business or personal banking information
Government-issued ID (for identity verification)

Fees & Pricing

There are two fees applied to each transaction: Stripe's processing fee and the FamousTitle platform fee.

Fee Breakdown

FamousTitle Platform Fee

Charged by FamousTitle for use of the storefront platform

3% + $0.50

Stripe Processing Fee

Charged by Stripe for payment processing

2.9% + $0.30

Example: $100 sale

Sale amount: $100.00

Stripe fee (2.9% + $0.30): -$3.20

Platform fee (2.1% + $0.20): -$2.30

You receive: $94.50

Fees are automatically deducted from each transaction. You receive the net amount directly in your Stripe account.

Payouts

Once payments are processed, Stripe handles transferring the funds to your bank account.

Payout Schedule

Standard payout schedule is 2 business days in the US
You can customize your payout schedule in your Stripe dashboard
Instant payouts are available for an additional fee (if eligible)

You can manage your payout settings, view payment history, and download reports from your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com.

Disconnecting Your Account

You can disconnect your Stripe account at any time. Here's what happens when you disconnect:

Before you disconnect

Make sure all pending orders are fulfilled and any pending payouts have been processed. Disconnecting will prevent new payments from being processed on your storefront.

Go to Settings → Payments
Click 'Disconnect' next to your connected Stripe account
Confirm the disconnection

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an existing Stripe account?

No! If you don't have a Stripe account, one will be created for you during the connection process. You'll need to complete Stripe's verification to receive payments.

Can I use my existing Stripe account?

Yes! If you already have a Stripe account, you can connect it to FamousTitle. Just sign in to your existing account during the connection process.

How long does verification take?

Most verifications are completed instantly. In some cases, Stripe may require additional documentation which can take 1-2 business days to review.

What countries are supported?

Stripe Connect is available in 40+ countries. Check Stripe's website for the full list of supported countries and any specific requirements.

Can I connect multiple stores to the same Stripe account?

Yes! If you have multiple FamousTitle websites, you can connect them all to the same Stripe account. Payments from all stores will go to the same bank account.

What happens to pending orders if I disconnect?

Any orders that were already paid will still be fulfilled. However, new purchases won't be possible until you reconnect a Stripe account. Make sure to complete all pending orders before disconnecting.
